Easter Fun Days

Dear Parent/ Guardian EASTER FUN DAYS: As part of the NLC Wishaw and Shotts youth work team we have planned a variety of free activities for young people within their locality with the opportunity to get the opportunity to attend a trip. These will be held in Shotts Community Centre on Tuesday 2nd from 1pm-4pm, and Coltness Community Centre on Tuesday 9th April from 11am-3pm. We ask the young people bring along a packed lunch, we will provide snacks and juice throughout the day. There is going to be a variety of activities throughout both days for young people to get involved in. Easter school will run on the first week of the Easter Holiday. The dates in April are Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th. Coltness High School would like to invite you to participate in this year’s Easter Study. This opportunity will allow you to gain the assistance they may need to achieve the grade they want from certain subject areas.  The Easter School will provide: Tuition from experienced subject teachers. Assistance for pupils in gaining a quality pass in their exam. An awareness of the key concepts and topics required to pass their examination. Advice on study skills and exam techniques relating to key areas of the curriculum. The Easter School also guarantees students: A place where they can work without interruption.

You may or not be aware that 3 pupils from Coltness were standing as Candidates in the Scottish Youth Parliament Elections in the Motherwell Wishaw Constituency: Rhea McGheachie, Jessica Carty and Gemma Gordon. All three girls did outstandingly well and have done themselves, their families and the school proud. It is our pleasure to announce that Gemma Gordon has been successful and therefore elected, along with a pupil from Taylor High School, to be an MSYP for Motherwell & Wishaw.

The family support service at HOPE for autism are holding a drop in event in Wishaw on Tuesday 7th Nov from 10.30-12.30 in Newmains Community and Conference Centre. This is a place families can come to go get sound autism advice and support. There is other organisations such as Lanarkshire Carers and some staff from the ND service there to speak with families.
